The Centers for Disease Control reports that the top 10 states for prescription opiate and opioid use are in the South, as can be seen from the map below. Georgia is surrounded by the highest density of prescription opiates and opiods in the nation.

New Medical Detox Center in Alpharetta

Numbers in excess of 100 per 100, such as the 143 prescriptions per hundred people in Tennessee, are the highest in the nation, and may be signal of serious future problems with these addictive opioid medicines.
